Baking is never just about ingredients, recipes and cooking when you are with kids. It’s about tackling imagination, empowerment and creativity. Wondering if your kids will remember the endless timespan you spent with them while putting one bread piece over the other or not? No, they won’t! But they will remember that one awesome afternoon, you spent baking with them.

Always remember that each day that you spend with your child, you make deposits in the memory banks of our children. You may regard baking as a magic science, but actually it’s the chemistry between the ingredients and the cook. Stressed is just desserts spelled backwards!

From measuring ingredients and cracking eggs, to greasing bread pans and decorating cupcakes, there are plenty of ways for kids of all ages to get involved and improve their baking skills along the way. So, grab your apron and get your little ones to help bake some delicious treats with this collection of easy and enjoyable baking recipes. Still if you are worried about the fact that your kids are new to the kitchen, start with supervising more difficult tasks, and as they get older you can continue to do less.

Microwave Chocolate Mug Cake

For ingredients; you need ¼ cup all-purpose flour, ¼ white sugar or ¼ jaggery, 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, a pinch of baking powder, salt according to taste, 3 tablespoons milk, ¼ vanilla extract.

For the actual procedure; place mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a large microwave-safe mug; stir in milk, water, and vanilla extract. Chocolate chips will make this recipe even better. Cook the chocolate cake in microwave for about 2 minutes.

This chocolaty fudgy treat is truly decadent and great for nights when I need a yummy dessert that is ready in less than 10 minutes!

Super-Easy Birthday Cake

For ingredients; 200g butter, powdered sugar, 4 large eggs, flour, whole milk, vanilla extract and cocoa powder.

For the actual procedure; preheat the oven. Now beat the butter and sugar in a mixer. Add the eggs, one at a time along with flour, milk and vanilla extract. Divide the mixture between two bowls. Add cocoa powder to one of them. Garnish out the vanilla batter into one tin and the chocolate batter into the other. Bake the cake for about 20-25 minutes. Once the cake is properly baked, cool it for about 5-10 minutes. Now coming to the final step that is to make the icing, beat the butter and add the icing sugar. Add your desirable food colour. Sandwich the two cakes together with icing.

Vanilla Biscuits

For the ingredients; you need unsalted butter, eggs (optional, can be totally avoided), powdered sugar, vanilla essence, flour, baking powder and milk.

For the actual procedure; line a baking tray and preheat the oven. Beat butter, sugar and vanilla until light and creamy. Stir through flour and baking powder and mix to form dough. Roll two teaspoons of mixture into balls, place on a tray lined with baking paper and flatten gently. At the end, bake for 10 minutes, until slightly golden around the edges. Cool on wire racks.

Apple Crumble Cake

For the ingredients; you need unsalted butter, all-purpose flour, salt, baking powder, sugar, vanilla extract, yoghurt, 2 honeycrisp apples, toasted walnuts and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.

For the actual procedure; preheat the oven to approx. 175°C. Butter a 9×12 inch baking tray. Next step is to whisk flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda together in a bowl. Set aside. Combine walnuts, white sugar, salt, cinnamon, and melted butter in a bowl. Mix until walnuts and sugar are thoroughly coated with butter. Cream butter and sugar together in another bowl with a spatula until well blended. Add vanilla extract and yogurt; whisk together. Add flour mixture to wet ingredients and whisk. Remove cores from apples. Cut across into 1/8- to 1/4-inch slices. Add to cake batter, folding in with a spatula until just combined. Spread 1/2 of the batter evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Top with the rest of the crumb mixture. Press crumbs into the batter very gently. Bake in the center of the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out. Let cool before slicing and serving.

Croissant Pudding

For the ingredients; you need croissants, ½ cups powdered sugar, heavy cream, ½ cup milk, 2 tablespoons bourbon and beaten eggs. (optional)

For the actual procedure; preheat the oven to 200°C. Lightly butter a baking dish and arrange the croissant pieces in the dish. In a bowl, whisk the eggs (optional). Gradually whisk in the hot caramel. Pour over the croissants and let stand for 10 minutes, pressing the croissants to keep them submerged. Bake the pudding in the oven for 20 minutes, until puffed and golden. Let cool for 10 minutes, then serve.

Chocolate Cookies

For the ingredients; you need ½ cup butter, powdered sugar, eggs (optional), vanilla extract, all purpose flour, coca powder, baking soda, baking powder and choco chips.

For the actual procedure; whisk the butter, eggs and sugar in a large bowl. Add vanilla essence to the mix. Take another bowl and now add all-purpose flour to it and further add cocoa powder and baking soda to it as well. Now mix the ingredients from the previous bowl mixture to this flour mixture. Further add choco chips for extra crunch! Now preheat the oven at 350° F. Place the butter mixture with the help of a spoon on the baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the oven for about 10 minutes. Once they are out, take them out and cool them.

The soft and fluffy chocolate cookies are ready to relish! Do try this tempting cookie recipe at least once.
