Do your kids love the beach? Beaches are literally the perfect spots for family outings and picnics on a warm summer’s day. That soft sand, the warm water, sea breeze – pure bliss! We have an easy tutorial to get your kids started with drawing a beach. This tutorial is pretty easy with simplified human figures and other objects and can serve as a really good base for learning after which your kids can add in whichever details they wish to.

But before you start drawing, do you want to know some fun facts about beaches?

Fun facts about beaches

  •   Beaches became a very popular tourist attraction during the 18th century!
  •   Around the world, there are beaches of a variety of colors – brown, black, white, red, green, purple, grey and even gold!
  •   About 90% of all volcanic activity occurs in the oceans of the world!

Did any of these beach fun facts make you go “Woah!”? It certainly did blow our minds. Let’s start drawing now!

What materials do we recommend to draw a beach?

In order to draw a beach, you will require the following materials:

  •   Pencil
  •   Eraser
  •   Drawing paper
  •   Black marker
  •   Crayons/color pencils/paints

How long will it take to draw a beach?

It should take you around an hour to draw a beach.

How to draw a beach?

Horizontally fold your drawing paper in half. Then unfold it and do the same thing vertically. Then unfold it. This will serve as your base grid to give you a good drawing reference.

Follow these easy steps to draw a nice warm and fuzzy beach. You can always add your own elements and details to the drawing; after all, everyone has their own favorite parts and different memories from the beach!

Step 1: In the lower left corner of your paper, start drawing an easy human body.

Step 2: Add the legs, hair and bathing suit to the human body.

Step 3: You can draw an umbrella above it and a blanket/mat below it too.

Step 4: In the background, add a wavy line for your ocean. Also, draw a pail and a shovel close by.

Step 5: Now on the right-hand side, you can draw another human figure.

Step 6: You can add shells, starfish and even a beach ball on the sand.

Step 7: In the distance, draw a few sailboats.

Step 8: Draw some clouds in the sky, the sun as well as some birds. You can add tiny waves in the ocean too. Don’t forget to add the horizon line!

Step 9: Outline your drawing with a sketch pen or marker and color or paint it!

Wasn’t this a simple drawing tutorial? Even though the steps are really easy, the result is heartwarming and beautiful.

We hope you and your kids enjoyed this beach drawing art project!
