How to draw a balloon?

Many people may think that drawing a balloon is super easy. What’s the big deal, right? Wrong. It is the little details that make a drawing special and worthy of being called a piece of art. The balloons in this tutorial have little tied ends that look super life-like, the shiny reflection spots that we usually see on real-life balloons, and they’re in a bunch to give them more depth.

Before you start drawing, make yourself a guide. To do this, either fold your page horizontally and vertically in half, or draw dotted lines with your pencil. Drawing guides will give you a reference point when you sit to draw.

Here is the step-by-step tutorial to drawing some realistic looking balloons:

Step 1: In the center of your paper, draw a balloon.

Step 2: Now add one to the left, behind the previous balloon.

Step 3: Draw another balloon to the right and slightly at the bottom of the previous two.

Step 4: Add another balloon to the back.

Step 5: Draw another balloon slightly at the top.

Step 6: Add your next balloon to the left.

Step 7: Another balloon on top, slightly towards the right.

Step 8: Add the strings of your balloons. Also, draw highlight spots (this is the secret we were talking about at the beginning)!

Step 9: This is the fun part. Outline your balloons and get artsy! Color your balloons in every single color you wish to. You could add cute designs like polka dots, slanting lines and so on to make your balloons look fancier. Don’t forget to color the background too.
