A pancake is a thin, circular cake made from a starch-based dough containing eggs, milk, and butter, and fried on a heated surface such as a skillet or frying pan, frequently with oil or butter.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"knowing_more_about_it\"><\/span>Knowing more about it!<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This recipe can be used to make both sweet and savoury pancakes. This recipe is ideal for Pancake Day or a special brunch. Each serving contains 317 calories, 12.5 grammes of protein, 42 grammes of carbohydrates (four of which are sugars), 10.5 grammes of fat (3.5 grammes of saturates), 2 grammes of fibre, and 0.5 grammes of salt.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"what_all_ingredients_do_you_need\"><\/span>What All Ingredients Do You Need?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The following ingredients will make roughly 8\u201310-inch (25 cm) pancakes (more or less, depending on size); you can adjust the component amounts to feed the desired number of people.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 cups (18oz\/510g) self-rising or all-purpose flour (see tips below)<\/li>\n<li>2 or 3 eggs<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 cups (350ml) of milk<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon of baking soda<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons of butter or vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>5 tablespoons of sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)<\/li>\n<li>A pinch of salt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"time_required_to_make_pancakes\"><\/span>Time required to make pancakes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You\u2019ll be able to prepare approximately 3-4 pancakes in about 40-60 minutes.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"how_to_make_a_pancake\"><\/span>How To Make A Pancake?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"step_1_crack_the_eggs_into_a_mixing_basin_and_whisk_them_together_until_smooth\"><\/span>Step 1: Crack the eggs into a mixing basin and whisk them together until smooth.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Add the remaining ingredients to the mixture (excluding the salt and baking soda if using self-rising flour). At this stage, do not stir the mixture!<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"step_2_in_a_microwave-safe_bowl_melt_the_butter\"><\/span>Step 2: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Check to see if it&#8217;s totally melted; a minute should be enough.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"step_3_combine_the_butter_and_milk_in_a_mixing_bowl\"><\/span>Step 3: Combine the butter and milk in a mixing bowl.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Gently fold in the dry ingredients, leaving some small clumps in the batter. Blend until the mixture is absolutely smooth. Your pancakes will be harsh and flat instead of fluffy if your batter is smooth.<\/p>\n<p>If you have vanilla extract, you can add it to the butter and milk mixture as well.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"step_4_preheat_the_frying_pan_over_low_medium_heat\"><\/span>Step 4: Preheat the frying pan over low medium heat.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Use your stove&#8217;s original &#8220;pancake&#8221; setting if it exists. To prevent the pancakes from sticking, use non-stick spray or a pat of butter.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"step_5_pour_a_few_drops_of_water_into_your_pan\"><\/span>Step 5: Pour a few drops of water into your pan.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The pan is ready for the batter if it &#8216;dances&#8217; or jumps out of the pan with a sizzle.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"step_6_using_the_tip_of_a_big_spoon_or_a_pitcher_pour_roughly_3_tablespoons_to_14_cup_batter_onto_the_hot_griddle_or_greased_frying_pan\"><\/span>Step 6. Using the tip of a big spoon or a pitcher, pour roughly 3 tablespoons to 1\/4 cup batter onto the hot griddle or greased frying pan.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The size of your pancakes will be determined by the amount of batter you pour. To increase the size of the pancakes, start with less batter and gradually pour more batter onto the pan.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"step_7_cook_the_crepe_for_about_two_minutes_or_until_golden_brown\"><\/span>Step 7: Cook the crepe for about two minutes, or until golden brown.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Around the edges, bubbles should form and eventually pop. Flip the cake gently when the bubbles at the edge of the batter explode and a hole remains that does not close up immediately.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"step_8_cook_the_other_side_until_golden_brown_then_remove_from_the_pan\"><\/span>Step 8: Cook the other side until golden brown, then remove from the pan.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Do you want a richer colour? Repeat the process for another thirty seconds on each side, or until the pancake is cooked to your liking.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"step_9_youre_nearly_done_simply_take_pleasure_in_it\"><\/span>Step 9: You&#8217;re nearly done! The options are limitless.
